EIFFEL Projects served as project manager for the development of Smart Energy Hubs (SEHs) commissioned by the province of Overijssel.
Our role
SEHs are decentralized energy systems where local supply and demand meet, supported by flexible storage and conversion technology. Building SEHs enables sustainable energy generation in locations where this would otherwise be unfeasible, such as areas with grid congestion.
As project manager, we were responsible for delivering 4 hubs in Overijssel. We also worked with the province of Gelderland and Oost NL on an acceleration program to roll out the SEH concept at more locations.
Our achievements
4 Smart Energy Hubs are now in development in Overijssel. Other concrete results from this project:
- The Acceleration Program East Netherlands for the development of 10 hubs
- A feasibility study for Smart Energy Hubs in East Netherlands
- The preparation of a development company for SEHs (expected in 2023)
- A successful advocacy effort that contributed to embedding Smart Energy Hubs in national policy
